What your Moon sign is

Your Sun sign is how you shine; your Moon sign is how you feel. It is the sign the Moon was passing through when you were born, and it describes your emotional life: what comforts you, what unsettles you, and what you need from the people closest to you.

The Moon moves quickly, changing sign every two to three days. On a little over half of all dates it stays in one sign from midnight to midnight, and the date alone is enough. On the rest it changes partway through the day, and your birth time decides which sign is yours. This calculator tells you which kind of day yours was.

Cosmiclogy reads the Moon in the sidereal zodiac, measured against the constellations, which is the one Vedic astrology uses: in Vedic terms it is your rashi. Most Western sites use the tropical zodiac, measured against the seasons, and the two name the same Moon sign for only about one person in five. Is my Moon sign more important than my Sun sign?
Neither outranks the other. They describe different things: the Sun the self you show, the Moon the self you feel. Read together with your Rising sign, they are the three that most shape a personality.
