Why 4 and 7 have no day

Two numbers sit apart. 4 answers to Rahu and 7 to Ketu — the two shadow planets, the points where the Sun and Moon’s paths cross. They are not bodies that ride across the sky, so, unlike the seven, they rule no day of the week of their own. That is why you will see traditions differ on the lucky day for a 4 or a 7: there is no single classical answer, and it is exactly the kind of thing a proper reading settles for a particular chart, rather than a table deciding for everyone.

The honest part — and the gemstones

Kept in proportion, lucky days and colours are a delight: a reason to wear gold on a Sunday, to notice a Tuesday. The moment they become a source of worry — a “wrong” colour, an unlucky day to avoid — they have stopped serving you, and that is not how we use them. Gemstones are a different matter.
